Torsion test

Our torsion testing machine enables the precise determination of the torsion angle of metallic materials, plastics or complete assemblies under torsional load. Thanks to its high rigidity, a very accurate measurement of the torsion angle is ensured over the entire torque range. As an option, static weight loading in the tensile or compressive direction is possible for the introduction of axial forces.

What you should know about this method?

What geometry should the specimen have at the ends to ensure secure clamping during the test?

Round ends are sufficient for smaller torques. For higher torques, a positive force transmission (e.g. a square) is required.

Can very small torques also be measured?

We are able to measure torques from the Ncm range.

Are the analyses accredited?

RMS is an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited analysis laboratory (accreditation type C). Many of the analyses are already validated. New or customer-specific analysis methods can be validated and accredited by us.
