METHODS

Leak testing and visual inspection of packaging

We carry out leak tests on sealed seams using dye penetration, both for porous (ASTM F1929) and non-porous (ASTM F3039) packaging. In both methods, the test liquid is injected into the packaging. The capillary effect fills channels with a diameter of over 50 μm in the seal seam and thus makes them visible. The test liquid and exposure time vary depending on the standard.

In addition, we also offer leak tests using bubble emission (ASTM D3078) and visual inspections in accordance with ASTM F1886 / F1886M.
