METHODS
Dynamic / fatigue testing
Dynamic, uniaxial tests on test specimens made of metallic, polymeric and ceramic materials as well as on assemblies and medical devices to determine fatigue strength (Wöhler curve). The tests can be carried out both at room temperature and in a temperature-controlled water bath at 37°C.
The samples can also be tested for fretting corrosion or the release of particles under dynamic load.

For which material tests do we use this method?
We use dynamic testing for the following tests, among others:
- Analysis of the fatigue strength of materials, components, parts and products
- Dynamic tests with loads from 4 N to 10 kN with the option of optical monitoring of deformations
- Fatigue strength of components from additive manufacturing (AM)
- Dynamic loading of components or products with subsequent analysis of fretting corrosion
- Dynamic loading of components or products with subsequent analysis of the abrasion particles
What you should know about this method?
Where should the force be applied to my test part, what is the connection to the testing machine?
We determine this individually for each test application, e.g. according to the indication for medical devices or according to a standard.

Are the analyses accredited?
RMS is an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited analysis laboratory (accreditation type C). Many of the analyses are already validated. New or customer-specific analysis methods can be validated and accredited by us.
